Weekly Photo Challenge: Contrast


For photographers contrast in an image is about the difference between light and dark tones in a scene. If there is not enough contrast a picture will look too gray or dull. But I also think that extends to the contrast between colour and black & white images

Have a look at the image above. The contrast between the colour and the black & white portions of the image stand out for me in favour of the colour. That’s why I rarely ever publish a black & white image.

  3. Great shot. Can’t help speculating on the origin of the brick structure. Is it the chimeny of a buried building, is it all thats left of an old building and so on…
