When I saw this weeks challenge I thought , brilliant, I have so many textures I can use with my images. Now normally I try to get my post in on the Friday evening but I’ve been away at a wedding over the weekend so I’m a little bit late. Here’s my effort
However it looks like I may have the wrong ideas about texture. Apparently this week we’re supposed to show something that is textured in the natural world, like rope, fibres, brick etc. Not me! So here’s another one…
Now that’s what I call a texture
…..and up above is another one. The image above was originally created to show how we can recover holiday photographs when we make a mistake as photographers. The original of this was way over-exposed but by blending in textures I’ve recovered something that I can maybe use or sell.
I create a lot of my own textures which I make free for use under a Creative Commons License You can also find loads of textures on Flickr and Deviant Art, but be sure to check the license restrictions, if any.

Hello Josette,, thank you for your interest…Each of the pictures above are separate images. The top one is a photograph of a well known local lighthouse. The bears are from a Victorian postcard image, extracted using Photoshop, and then the whole thing is combined with a texture. The second image is an idea of the textures I create. The Buddha image was totally over-exposed in the background but the main statue was just about right. Seems an ok interpretation of the week’s subject to me – you are not alone in entering phtos with textured layers 🙂 Anyway, a nice selection. The statue looks good!

I haven’t found any yet, but it’s taking me ages to get through all the submissions. This past couple of weeks I’ve been so busy with different photography projects.

I started photography long enough ago – film days – when texture meant the texture of the subject – but I, like you submitted a photo that had a texture layer added to it in photoshop! I don’t think there is anyone right answer here, but on the weekly challenge there have been lots of great images – i love your examples. thanks for dropping by my page and being kind enough to comment!
